HP notebooks sucks, as a pc technician i have received many HP products, DV 2000, F500, DV 6000 with the same problem, overheating, one of my customers is a big colombian multinational company, we decided not to use HP products anymore, we migrated to Lenovo, and Dell PCs, the high quality HP products are history ...customers complaints doesnt matter to HP

I have had the same problem and i have no doubt in saying HP products are getting useless. They are just a pain now and its better to look for Dell or Apple cause HP just isn't worth it.

Also the customer service feels like a group of utterly impugnant people after when you get through to them like an hour.
No HP on life thats for sure.

I have a DV7 and I am having the same motherboard problem. I have the 4 years of warranty and I am really using it. I sent my laptop in for repair twice for the same problem in two months. I just got it back on Friday took it out of the box, plugged it in, and it didn't work. I called the number for the warranty and they told me to take it to the store this time. I did that and the store called me the next day an told me to come back and get it to send it in again. This is a bunch of bull**** getting the run around. I know one thing, I'm getting my stuff off my hard drive before it goes anywhere. I'm afraid they might keep it and send me a replacement and I won't have my data. My extended plan says I get 1 free replacement. I wonder if they will reimburse me for the new laptop I bought cos I got tired of playing their games. I need my laptop for work and I don't have time for games. I had to go spend more money but I bought a Dell this time whether it makes a difference or not but the price was right.
